Cool Energy has taken the appropriate measures to ensure the company's intellectual property is satisfactorily protected.
A basic overview of the patents and intellectual property registered by Cool Energy includes the following:
- Base cryogenic CO2 removal technology, patented by Core Laboratories Pty Ltd and Curtin University of Technology, was assigned to Cool Energy in February 2005.
- Shell's involvement in technology development at Curtin University resulted in a patent application filed by Shell in 2004. This was licensed to Cool Energy on a royalty free basis in June 2005.
- Cool Energy filed new patents in September 2005 and February 2007 covering the unique parts of its process, identified during the testing program.
- In June 2009, Cool Energy filed a further 2 patent applications.
- In August 2009, Cool Energy filed its 5th patent application.
- Cool Energy has 5 Trademarks - Cool Energy®, CryoCell®, CryoFlash®, CryoZorb®, and CryoFrac™.
