The Centre for Energy and Greenhouse Technologies Pty Ltd
The Centre for Energy and Greenhouse Technologies (CEGT), a private Australian company, is an investment and service provider focusing exclusively on the development of new sustainable energy and greenhouse gas reduction technologies.
In conjunction with co-investors, CEGT aims to generate commercial returns by meeting the growing Australian and global demand for new sustainable energy technologies. This is achieved by identifying and attracting development projects that require investment to reach the demonstration or commercialisation stage.
CEGT believes a significant opportunity exists for new technologies in the areas of fossil fuel and renewable energy generation, distribution and transmission, energy efficiency, energy storage and enabling technologies in the growing fields of advanced materials and nanotechnology.
Climate change, greenhouse gas emissions, the environment and sustainability are now a central feature of the Australian and international agenda. In Australia the energy sector (electricity generation, petroleum refining, gas processing and solid fuel manufacturing) accounted for 68% of total greenhouse gas emissions in 2003.
CEGT has invested in Cool Energy because of CryoCell®'s unique ability to remove CO2 from natural gas feed streams as a liquid, thereby eliminating harmful emissions. The liquid CO2 can be sequestered or fractionated and purified for industrial use. CEGT provides Cool Energy with access to extensive information on global environmental issues related to CO2 emissions.
